Scuba-diving training and certification, Yachting expeditions, water-skiiing and wake boarding courses are available. Many traditional sporting activities are available such as Gasing, a game involving highly polished giant tops, and Kite Flying. Most hotels will have details of activities on offer.

The Empire Hotel and Country Club has a championship, 18-hole, par 71 golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium is Olympic-sized and includes a track and field complex for atheltics, amongst other features. There are facilities for watching or participating in tennis, polo, football and hockey.
